Vhong Navarro, a Kapamilya actor-TV personality, is going through the tràuma again, eight years after the ràpe charges against him were dropped.

PEP.ph announced on Monday evening, September 19, 2022, that Vhong was held at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for ràpe.

This is in relation to the complainant’s ràpe accusation for an incident that allegedly occurred in the girl’s condo unit on the night of January 17, 2014.

According to Vhong’s lawyer, Atty. Alma Mallonga, it was approximately 4:30 p.m. this morning. The Taguig Regional Trial Court issued an order for the arrest of the It’s Showtime presenter.

Vhong willingly surrendered and is claimed to be eager to cooperate fully with the investigation.

Vhong, according to the lawyer, has been at the NBI office since Monday morning for a different case of làsciviousness.

This is in relation to Deniece’s complaint regarding the event of January 22, 2022.

The bail issued by the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court on the charge of làsciviousness is PH36,000. Vhong surrendered willingly and appeared in court as a result.

However, the recommendation in the actor’s separate ràpe case is no bail, so he was jailed on Monday night.

Attystatement .’s According to Mallonga sa PEP.ph, “although Vhong was already given bail in the case for acts of làsciviousness that were filed against him, an arrest warrant was issued against him shortly before 5 o’clock on the same day for the case of supposed ràpe.”

“This is the rape complaint where Deniece Cornejo herself said it did not happen in two sworn declarations.

“Because a warrant of arrest has already been issued, Vhong again surrendered to the NBI.

“And his detention with the NBI, as a result of his voluntary surrender, is being processed.

“The custody of Vhong is now with the NBI.”

However, according to Atty. Vhong’s camp, Mallonga is still battling.

He stated, “Subject to other remedies that are available, one of the things that we will do is to file for bail for Vhong so he can be released.”

Vhong is convinced that the ràpe that Deniece accuses him of is false.

The Kapamilya actor couldn’t believe how he turned around in his present circumstance as he surrendered to the NBI on Monday morning.

In a separate interview with ABS-CBN News this morning, he stated: “At parang ako pa yung nababaligtad. Na ako yung biktima, so parang ang hirap paniwalaan.

“So ako, mula noong 2014, inilahad ko lahat ng nangyari. Wala akong itinago, sinabi ko lahat.

“Alam ng Panginoon iyon. Nagsasabi ako ng totoo, kaya ngayon ang bigat ng loob ko.

“Ba’t parang ganito? Para mabuhay, at the same time, ngayon binabaligtad kami.”
