BINI, the P-pop trio nicknamed the “nation’s girl group,” debuted the music video for their current single, “I Feel Good,” on Thursday, ahead of the release of their return album.
Jhoanna, Maloi, Gwen, Aiah, Stacey, Mikha, Colet, and Sheena appear in a retro-inspired music video by YouMeUs MNL, singing and dancing to the song about happy love.
“I Feel Good,” written by John Michael Conchada and Jumbo de Belen, is the first single from BINI’s upcoming sophomore album, which will be released on September 29 along with a second song and music video.
The final seconds of “I Feel Good’s” music video appeared to foreshadow a forthcoming—and much darker—release. After being shown dancing on clouds (as in the lyrics), the members of BINI are shown hanging by threads beneath their colorful alter egos, like lifeless marionettes.
Given the sound of their discography thus far, BINI had suggested that their comeback release would be “unexpected” (Maloi) and “different” (Aiah). While “I Feel Good” is similar to their pop songs “Na Na Na” and “Lagi,” the group teased that the upcoming album will have songs that “slay” (Sheena), rather than only excite “kilig.”
The release of “I Feel Good” coincided with what has been termed BINI’s “September fever,” which has seen the group launch two significant brand sponsorships—each with a new single—a relationship with a messaging app for fan engagement, and a slew of guest appearances on TV shows and live events.
