Kevin Kwan, the author of “Crazy Rich Asians,” was awestruck by Heart Evangelista’s elegance at the recent GMA Gala Night.

In a series of images and a video posted on her Instagram page yesterday, July 31, the actress was wearing a shimmering black plunging dress with butterfly sleeves from Ashi Studio. Evangelista and Sen. Chiz Escudero, her husband, attended the event.

Kwan left a comment on Evangelista’s post praising the actress and referring to her as a “crazy rich Asian” in real life.

He commented, “wow”

Heart replied, “I miss you”

Evangelista and Kwan worked together on Harper’s Bazaar’s 2018 “Crazy Rich Asians” feature. The Japanese-British actress Sonoya Mizuno was cast in the role of Araminta Lee, which Evangelista also revealed that she tried out for.

Later, Kwan told Evangelista that he had asked her to try out for the movie. Kris Aquino, Evangelista’s colleague, joined the cast and played Princess Intan.
