The driver of an SUV who plowed over a security officer at a mall in Mandaluyong City in June has been charged with frustrated murdér.

The Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office officially requested the filing of the aforementioned charges against Jose Sanvicente in a decision dated June 29. It was only made available to the media on Thursday.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) had already revoked Sanvicente’s license and restricted him from obtaining another license or operating a car.

Prior to the viral hit-and-run, Sanvicente was arrested three times for careless driving in 2010, 2015, and 2016, according to LTO data. But it took Sanvicente ten days to submit to authorities, despite a public outcry for justice.
