Guanzon worked as a Comelec commissioner under former President Benigno Aquino III and President Rodrigo Duterte from 2015 to 2022.

She also worked as the chief of staff to the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, whom she regards as a role model.

She also became Mayor of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, and a Commissioner of the Commission on Audit (COA).

One of the commenters that attracted her attention was the one who called her “BUANGZON.”

“Itulak nyo yang BUÁNGZON na yan,” a certain Alex Abad stated.
