On Tuesday morning, July 5, a Ceres Liner bus collided with a passengers’ waiting lounge inside a terminal in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, injuring at least four people.
According to terminal closed circuit television (CCTV) camera video, the bus exceeded the gutter, acting as a brake while maneuvering in the parking area.
When evaluated by their maintenance employees, Jade Seballos, media and legal officer of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), stated the bus, which operates the Dumaguete to Bayawan City route, had no technical issues.
According to Seballos, the bus driver is being held by authorities for additional investigation to ascertain what caused the tragedy.
According to Seballos, two of the four injured persons were admitted to the hospital, while the other two had already been discharged. They have already received medical aid from the bus company.
According to Seballos, the bus driver has worked with the firm for 15 years and has never been in an accident. She also stated that following the police inquiry, a punishment will be imposed on the bus driver.
