The Bible for use at President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s inauguration ceremony was the same one used during his father, late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr .’s, inaugural ceremony in 1965.
The National Library of the Philippines was in charge of repairing and cleaning the Bible used by the older Marcos.
According to the NLP on Facebook, the Filipiniana Division of the NLP monitored the cleaning and restoration of the original Bible used by his father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, who swore his oath on two Bibles on December 30, 1965.
Bongbong Marcos, 64, took his oath as the Philippines’ 17th president on Thursday at the National Museum. The oath was delivered by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo. During her husband’s oath-taking, First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos held the Bible.
