Billy Crawford, a singer-host, spoke about the partnership between his TV5 noontime show Lunch Out Loud and his former ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime.
The back-to-back airings of LOL and It’s Showtime began on July 16.
When the collaboration was revealed, several reactions were posted on the internet, but perhaps the most common were statements of joy for the two shows.
The 11 a.m. slot was taken by the Kapatid noontime show. It lasted until 12:45 p.m., when it was followed by the Kapamilya noontime show.
According to a recent conversation with The Philippine Star, Billy Crawford stated that he had previously anticipated the collaboration.
“Nakakalimutan ng mga tao ng mundo na iisa ang industriya natin at ang manonood talaga dito ang tina-try natin pasiyahin. I know one day, it’s gonna happen somehow at nagtatagpo rin kami,” Billy Crawford stated.
He further stated that he had no problems with back-to-back airings of their show, regardless of the fact that the It’s Showtime camp is not participating.
“Look, at the end of the day, it’s a business decision. The guys up there are the ones calling the shots and tayo, we do our best in our jobs para pasayahin ang audience. Audience ang panalo rito,” the singer-host explained.
Billy used to be among the presenters of Kapamilya’s noontime show.
He left and thereafter featured on the Kapatid network’s noontime show. His move to TV5 sparked considerable discussion.
