Andrea Brillantes, a Kapamilya actress, has explained what causes her to speak in a childlike manner.

Andrea Brillantes’ video of herself engaging in a baby talk discussion with a store worker went viral on May 30. The video was shot when she was on a trip in Siargao with friends and her basketball player-boyfriend, Ricci Rivero.

The viral video of the 19-year-old star garnered mixed emotions on social media, with some users defending her and others críticizing her.

Andrea Brillantes explained what led her to frequently speak in a childish way in an interview with Kapamilya host Karen Davila. When she felt safe and cared for, she says she automatically baby talks.

Andrea Brillantes further stated that she is not affected by mean comments from the internet community because she has no control over them. “Bumabalik at bumabalik talaga siya. Nababago ko lang siya kapag may role ako kasi trabaho ‘yon at kailangan,” she explained.

“So feeling ko part talaga siya ng childhood ko na Nawala,” she continued.

Andrea commented on the public’s image of her when Karen questioned if she felt it was unfair to be described as “wíld” considering her contributions to her family. Despite her outgoing personality, she claims to be able to control her priorities.

“Isa ‘yun sa frustrations ko at frustrations ng lahat ng kaibigan ko. Sila mismo ‘yung magsasabi sa akin na, ‘Hindi mo ‘to deserve.’ ‘Yung pagbe-baby talk ko, akala kasi nila nagpapa-cute ako pero ‘yung mga friends ko, alam nilang gano’n lang talaga ako as person,” Andrea stated.

“Pero kasi, wala talaga akong magagawa kahit anong pilit ko,” Brillantes added. “Kahit anong gawin ko, wala sa kakayanan kong mabago ‘yung paningin ng ibang tao kung ‘yun ‘yung pipilitin nilang tingnan,” she continued.
