The majority of Filipinos polled by Pulse Asia believe that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s government should act quickly to control inflation.

Controlling inflation is a primary concern for the incoming government, according to 57 percent of those responded to the survey from June 24 to 27, and it was also the top first-ranked serious priority in the research study.

Other top priorities for the Marcos administration include rising workers wages (45 percent), poverty reduction among several Filipinos (33 percent), and creation of more jobs (29 percent).

As per Pulse Asia, 20% of participants agree that combating graft and massive corruption should be a top priority. The survey also observed that two years after first lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, just 7% of those surveyed said it is critical for the new administration to restrict the virus’s transmission.

Pulse Asia performed face-to-face interview sessions with 1,200 adults right across the country for the study, in which participants were asked to identify the top three issues they think the Marcos administration should identify immediately.

The results have a 2.8 percent error margin at the 95 percent confidence level.
