Direk Bobet Vidanes, who left It’s Showtime in 2020, says he hasn’t spoken with his former hosts anymore.

Direk Bobet Vidanes originated and directs ABS-CBN’s noontime show It’s Showtime. Everything about the show, from segments to challenges, was his concept, but this was only throughout his term as director.

He stated that the true reason he quit was because he really can not take the unhealthy environment any longer. He went away for the sake of his mental health and peace of mind.

“Kasi po yung pagta-tatrabaho ko sa kabila, hindi na po healthy. Mamamatay po akong maaga. Ang ganda ng programa but it’s not healthy anymore,” he explained.

He switched to TV5, contradicting his previous statement about sticking with the network no matter what.

The director stated that he will properly investigate this. “Pag-aaralan kong mabuti iyan. So far, wala naman akong kaaway na artists. Siguro hindi lang kami nagkaintindihan, nagkatampuhan, di nagkapaliwanagan,” he indicated.

He went on to say that after he departed, it was the management that told him not to contact with his former performers. The management promised to be the one to discuss his desire to depart with them. And they haven’t spoken until now.

When he departed, one of the reasons he didn’t inform them was because he was afraid of something. He is afraid that one of them will follow him, something he cannot afford.
