Manny V. Pangilinan, Chairman of TV5, was questioned more about the rumored collaboration between his network and ABS-CBN.
Just this June, rumours circulated that the Kapamilya network is already in advanced discussions with Pangilinan’s media company for a “50/50 arrangement, although neither party issued a statement.
Manny V. Pangilinan was asked to respond to this at a recent event, based on the piece in PEP. The businessman stated that he is not at liberty to comment about the situation at this time.
“Nothing is being finalized. We’re under a confidentiality agreement at saka, you know, we have to obtain government approval first. So it’s probably not appropriate to comment at this stage,” the media company executive stated.
Earlier, ABS-CBN and TV5 had a collaboration, with several Kapamilya programs currently airing on the Kapatid network.
This topic came up again when it was reported that on July 1, a station ID featuring stars from both networks will be issued.
According to reports, Pangilinan and the Lopezes are merely waiting for President Rodrigo Duterte’s term to finish before announcing their collaboration.
Rumors have also circulated that ABS-CBN will be a blocktimer on TV5, with the Kapamilya network co-producing programmes for the Kapatid network.
