FAIRFAX, Virginia (AP) —The high-profile defamation lawsuit between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard is about to gain a new celebrity touch when British model Kate Moss testifies.

Depp’s former lover, Moss, will make a video appearance on Wednesday.

According to the New York Post and other US media, Depp’s legal team has asked Moss, who dated the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor from 1994 to 1997, to testify.

Heard, 36, highlighted a supposed incident in which Depp allegedly shoved Moss down a flight of stairs during her testimony earlier this month.

Depp’s attorneys were able to use that reference to bring Moss as a witness to answer the claim.

Depp, 58, sued Heard in December 2018 for an op-ed in The Washington Post in which she portrayed herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Depp sued Heard for claiming he was a domestic abuser and is demanding $50 million in damages. Heard, who had a major part in “Aquaman,” did not identify Depp in the op-ed.

Heard, who was born in Texas, countersued for $100 million, saying she was subjected to “rampant physical assault and torture” at his hands.

Depp denied ever hitting Heard or any other woman throughout his four days on the witness stand, claiming that she was the one who was frequently aggressive.
