Kate Moss, a British model, denied on Wednesday that her former lover, Johnny Depp, ever shoved her down a flight of stairs, claiming it never occurred.
“He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” said Moss, she was a witness in Depp’s defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Depp, 58, sued Heard in December 2018 over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she referred to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”
Heard, 36, did not mention the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor in the op-ed, but he has sued her for insinuating he was a domestic abuser, asking for $50 million in damages.
Heard, who was born in Texas, countersued for $100 million, saying she had been subjected to “rampant physical violence and abuse” at his hands.
Heard highlighted a supposed incident in which Depp allegedly shoved his former girlfriend, Moss, down a flight of stairs during her testimony earlier this month.
Depp’s attorneys used that reference to call Moss as a witness to answer the claim, and she testified via video connection from Gloucestershire, England.
Moss, 48, said she was in a romantic relationship with Depp from 1994 until 1998.
She was questioned about an event that occurred during the couple’s trip to a Jamaican resort.
Moss explained, “We were leaving the room, and Johnny left the room before I did.” “There’d been a rainstorm, and as I left the room, I slid down the stairs, hurt my back.”
“And I screamed because I was in pain and didn’t know what had happened to me.” He returned to assist me, carrying me to my chamber and obtaining medical assistance.”
Moss was not cross-examined by Heard’s counsel.
