On April 21, 2022, production staff put up a stage near the corner of Macapagal Boulevard and Buendia Avenue in Pasay City.
The MMDA has stated that from April 19 to 21, just one lane of Macapagal Boulevard up to Buendia Avenue will be open for vehicles, while all lanes on both roads will be restricted from April 22 to 24.
The road closure is the result of the mobilization of volunteer supporters of presidential candidate Leni Robredo in preparation for a large rally on her birthday, April 23, on April 23.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) denied on Thursday that its decision to partly close Macapagal Boulevard from April 22 to 24 is targeted to inconvenience supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo during a campaign event.
On Saturday, April 23, the presidential candidate will have a birthday campaign event along Macapagal Boulevard.
After similar complaints were made on social media, the MMDA issued an advisory protesting the injustices.
From April 19 to April 21, vehicles will be allowed to use a single lane from Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard to Buendia Avenue, the MMDA previously stated in a tweet.
It was also said that a complete road restriction will be conducted on April 22-24.
On Wednesday, April 20, the agency established a stop-and-go traffic arrangement along Roxas Boulevard and Diokno Boulevard in preparation for the World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit 2022.
