Two suspected rebels were slain following a reported clash with authorities in Jiabong town, Samar, on Wednesday morning.

A police complaint said six armed people were sighted in Barangay Alejandria at 2 p.m.

The police and troops reacted quickly, allegedly shooting at the gunmen in order for them to respond.

Two alleged New People’s Army members were killed in the incident, while four others fled. Authorities are still trying to figure out who the victims are.
