Authorities destroyed thousands of marijuana plants in Tupi, South Cotabato, on Sunday, according to a regional police officer on Tuesday. According to Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum, director of the Police Regional Office-12, the marijuana plants, worth P4.6 million, were instantly set on fire by police officers and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 operatives. He claims that it was alert informants who informed them to the multiplication of marijuana by a certain Siano Dialang in Barangay Miasong in Tupi, allowing members of PRO-12 units and PDEA-12 operatives to carry out the uprooting operation quickly.
