Eumir Marcial is assured of at least a bronze medal as he advances to the men’s middleweight semis in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The Philippines is now assured of a second medal in boxing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after boxer Eumir Marcial defeated his Armenian opponent Arman Darchinyan in the men’s middleweight quarterfinals this Sunday.
Eumir Marcial hurt Arman Darchinyan early on with shots to the body and head and finished him off with an upper left & right hook for the KO.
The Philippines is assured of at least three medals in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after Eumir Marcial advanced to the men’s middleweight semifinals.
Eumir Marcial said he didn’t expect a knockout win against Armenia’s Arman Darchinyan, but explained there are just some punches like that in boxing.
“Di ko ine-expect no na ganun talaga ang mangyayari na mana-knockout ko siya. Kasi, alam ko na ano din talagang malakas na fighter siya, talagang ‘yun ‘yung laro niya at never kong nakita na sa laban niya, kanit anong lakas ng kalaban niya, na knockout…May mga suntok talaga ‘di natin inaakala..Sobrang powerful talaga ni God.”
