Several residents were shocked by the passing of a tornado in Tumauini town in Isabela on Monday afternoon. There are two civilians captures the tornado that wreaked havoc across Isabela.

It was past 4 pm when residents noticed the tornado forming in Barangay Lanna. The Netizen recorded a video of Tornado is Lhan Ilustre Macalalad who uploaded it through Facebook while Romnick Nain uploaded on his YouTube account.

According to resident Lhan Ilustre Macalalad, he even thought they could only see smoke from a fire. But they were surprised to see the tornado pass by.

According to another resident, Jefferson Mamauag, the tornado lasted for almost an hour and reached households.

During the damage assessment conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in Tumauini, 2 houses made of light materials in Barangay Santa Catalina were destroyed by the tornado while eight others in Barangay Malamag West were partially damaged.

According to the report of ABS-CBN news, “Tumauini DRRM Officer Jenny-Vi Palogan added that up to 11 families were affected by the tornado. They have already been given relief assistance and it has been recommended to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office to also provide emergency shelter assistance.”
