Albay Second District Rep. Jose Ma. Clemente “Joey” Salceda says Davao City’s Mayor Sara Duterte is running for president in the May 2022 elections.

“In our exchange of texts with Mayor Inday Sara, she left no doubt that she has crossed the Rubicon, it is 100 percent certain that she is running in 2022. She did not have to agonize over it because she knows she is capable. She is both tough and right. If ever she needs help, she can count on my friendship and loyal advice.”

He also said he believes in the capacity of “Inday Sara” whom he described as “a very studious official, possessed of sharp wit and capable of grasping the complexities of the economy.”

Meanwhile, the survey conducted by some volunteers who are gathering signatures on whether the people want Sara Duterte to run as the next President of the country is also resounding.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque reiterated on Thursday that President Duterte still does not want his daughter, Davao Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, to run for president in the 2022 elections.
