Despite the criticisms leveled at his relationship decisions, Derek Ramsay did not hesitate to reveal the truth about his separation from Andrea Torres. In an interview with Cristy Fermin on her program Cristy Per Minute that aired on April 20, Derek Ramsay shared that he was the first to break up with Andrea.

He said this is due to their differences in beliefs. He did not say that Andrea’s beliefs were wrong and so was his, but they grew up with different beliefs and they did not want to change that belief.

According to Derek Ramsay, “So, ako yung nakipagkalas. Sa phone po namin… ‘yon lang yung siguro kung may regret ako is that it came up over the phone. Actually, dapat magkikita kami noon, ang nangyari, it came up over the phone, pero with no disrespect. Hindi namin dinisrespect ang isa’t isa. She agreed also.”
