A spike in COVID-19 cases has forced the City Government to make this difficult decision of reimposing a liquor ban throughout Cebu City.

The Cebu City police are aware that there are abuses of allowing drinking in public places.

Cebu City placed under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) a lowest of all lockdown restrictions in the Philippine but the mayor issue an executive order to ban liquor.

All establishments of serving, selling, and drinking liquor in all establishments and public places in the city are ban.

“Following this, we decided to ban the sale and serving of intoxicating liquor in Cebu City establishments through this Executive Order 117.”

I also urge the City Council to pass an ordinance for a heavier fine on exceeding it, Cebu City added.
