Meryll and Joem first became a couple after working on the show I Love Betty La Fea in 2008 and separated after.

In January 2020, fans speculated that the two got back together when Joem was photographed with Meryll’s family during New Year. It was in December 2019 when Joem confirmed that he and his girlfriend Crisha Uy broke up.
