PM icon April Boy Regino has passed away, his brother Vingo confirmed in a Facebook post on Sunday.

“Nakakalungkot naman ang araw na ito… wala na ang kuya April Boy ko,” he said.

Jukebox Idol April Boy Regino died 3 am today of acute respiratory failure at an Antipolo City hospital, his younger brother Vingo Regino announced on his Facebook account, while his son JC Regino confirmed the cause of death to Pilipino Star Ngayon’s Cristy Fermin.

The singer-songwriter is the eldest of three brothers who made up the 1990s novelty group April Boys. As a solo artist, he is behind the massive hits “Paano ang Puso Ko”, “Umiiyak Ang Puso Ko” and “Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin.”
