Fast food billionaire Tony Tan Caktiong is among the many business icons in the country cried for the loss of wealth due to pandemic-induced blow this year.
An estimate of nearly 90% of his Jollibee fast food branches had reopened by the end of June caters only most to delivery and takeout orders. According to report, sales were greatly affected due to the limited dine-in services resulting to almost half of Jollibee’s shares down about 40%, dropping Tan Caktiong’s net worth by 37% to $1.9 billion.
Tony Tan Caktiong’s fast food company operates over 3,300 outlets in the country and more than 2,500 abroad including U.S. based chains Smashburger and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
Tony Tan Caktiong once said, he wanted Jollibee to be the world’s dominating Food Company.
