NATIONAL NEWS – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announces that dialysis patients can no longer avail the PhilHealth coverage unlimited session starting September 16, 2020 due to the situation of the country under the state of calamity during the pandemic.
According to the PhilHealth, the limit of 90 dialysis sessions is no longer in effect under the state of calamity.
It can be recalled that President Rodrigo Duterte declared the country under the state of calamity in order for the government to use the available funds to control the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
Meanwhile, PhilHealth said, those patients paying their dialysis session under the state of calamity are entitle for the reimbursement from the health insurer provided they can show their receipt.
However, some dialysis patients are trying to appeal that the free dialysis session will continue hoping the state of calamity soon to lift.
