COVID-19 cases in the Philippines jump to 136,638, with the highest single-day increase of 6,958 new infections reported by the DOH. Recoveries rise to 68,159 with an additional 633, while the death toll is now at 2,293, with 24 new deaths.

According to DOH, “We are reporting 6,958 new cases for August 10, 2020. Top reporting regions were NCR 4,163 (60%) cases, followed by CALABARZON (1,323 or 19%) and Region 3 (302 or 4%). Also noted are the 254 cases reported among Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF). These were from the submission of 74 of the 99 confirming laboratories.”
