Government school teacher in Thailand Melvin Cacho under the Chulalongkorn University Nonthaburi Project commits suicide hanging himself using power cord to tie his neck under the air compressor in the balcony of his rented apartment.
The incident took place on Tuesday, June 2, and Thai police recovered the dead body of the 27-year-old on the following day June 3 afternoon.
According to the police report, Melvin left suicide letter asking favor to send his baggage to the Philippines which addressed indicated for his family.
The suicide incident was happening due to a severe depression resulting too much stress, anxiety, paranoid of thinking family problems, job problems, money matters, failure dreams as reflected on his notes.
“My only wish before ako mamatay, ay simple lang. Pakihatid nalang ng mga gamit ko at ipabagahe pauwi ng Pilipinas para naman may pasalubong si mama. Ilang taon din akong hindi nakauwi, ang daming pangyayari sa paligid. COVID, no work, no pay, no job, wala lahat. Di ko na kaya…”
“Hindi ko na po alam ang gagawin ko dito sa Thailand. Hindi na ako makakain, di manlang ako makauwi sa Pinas,”,
“At sa pamahalaan ng Pinas, Rodrigo Duterte paki tulungan po ang pamilya ko. Taga Davao din po ako at idol po kita. Nacancel po ang flight ko pa pinas dahil sa Covid, tapos mamatay na ako dito. Ang dala kung bagahe nasa kuwarto ko ngayon ay para sa pamilya ko, please pakibigay naman po sa kanila.” he added.
The incident has already been reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila and to the Philippine Embassy.
