The Department of Health (DOH) provides the latest information on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in the country, including the actions undertaken by the department in addressing the pandemic, through a ‘Virtual Presser’ on May 8, 2020.
As of 4 PM today, May 8, 2020, the Department of Health reports 120 new cases (PH10344-PH10463) of COVID-19. NCR with additional 84 new cases, Region 7 with an additional 28 new cases and 8 new additional cases from different Regions. The total number of cases in the country is now at 10,463.
DOH also announces 116 new recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 1,734.
As of now, it is advised to the public to cooperate and do not be hard-headed because you are not helping but an additional problem, please stay on your respective houses and maintain a healthy body to fight the disease.
Now the cure or antibody is not yet discovered and experts predict this will be available the next year 2021, which is alarming.
In Global tally, 3,845,607 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 1,282,930 have been recovered from the deadly disease and 269,564 deaths.
