In Quezon province, the number of health workers who have been infected with coronavirus disease has jumped to 10, and the addition of two new cases on Saturday (April 11).
Based on the report of the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO), they revealed that the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province rose to 23 from the 21 cases on Friday.
Out of 21 infected, 8 of them are medical or health workers, QPIO head Janet Geneblazo-Buelo said.
Based on the latest report, the two cases were identified as “QP #22”, female, a 28-year-old from Tayabas City and “QP #23”, a 21-year-old woman from Lucena City.
Recently, the local government of Tayabas revealed that a local COVID-19 patient “QP #21” is also a health worker in Lucena City.
Lucena City has recorded a total of 4 confirmed coronavirus cases.
They are both “exposed to confirmed cases.”
Lucena City Mayor Roderick Alcala also revealed that the new local patient was a health worker in a hospital in the city.
Alcala had revealed that three of the confirmed cases in the province were “doctors” from the city. There are now eight confirmed COVID-19 patients.
The QPIO head said that out of the 23 coronavirus patients in the province, there are at least 3 that had been cleared and tested negative. One of them is a health worker from Tayabas City.
The two other cleared patients that has been discharged are from Lucena City and Sariaya.
