Vice President of the Philippines Leni Robredo, urges the public to stay calm and protect themselves and share verified information only after new COVID-19 cases.
VP Robredo’s remarks were after the Department of Health confirmed there were two new cases of COVID-19 in the country. VP Robredo said that there is still an increase in the numbers of infected of the COVID-19. And the experts were doing their very best to ensure the safety of the public by giving such helpful information to prevent the COVID-19. She added, the government continues to advise the public to remain calm, vigilant, and relay only trusted and truthful information to the government and public.
The Vice president shared some protective measures that will greatly contribute to efforts to prevent the spread of the disease:
- Washing hands with soap and water regularly
- Using alcohol-based sanitizer
- Avoiding touching the face without washing hands first
- Avoiding contact with pets and people who are sick
- Using a tissue or clean handkerchief whenever sneezing
- Drinking lots of water
- Eating nutritious food and ensuring food is cooked well
- Seeking medical attention when there are fever, cough, cold, and other symptoms.
VP Robredo said that these are some simple but helpful guidelines but it is a big impact to prevent the disease from spreading.
