PHILHEALTH: Shoulders Cost On Testing For COVID19

GOOD NEWS The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) will shoulder the cost of testing for COVID19 for those individuals who are suspected to be infected with this deadly virus.

Wednesday, Cabinet Secretary Nograles said  he wants to stress out that citizens must not  worry of expenses if he/she will be infected by coronavirus but instead focus on their well being and to have a healthy body to maintain a good immune system to counter the disease.

“The last thing we want is for our citizens to worry about medical costs and expenses. Their only concern should be their well-being and the well-being of their families”

Nograles said the President is concerned of his people especially on their health proven by Duterte  state of public health emergency declaration that allocates more funds in the health sector.

“PRRD recognizes the threat of COVID19 and the threat it imposes to Filipino people especially their loves ones and the senior citizens that is greatly affected by the virus due to poor immune system” Nograles noted

Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases the department wherein the Secretary Nograles is working with, is doing their best to provide additional testing kits especially on the area greatly affected by COVID19.

He noted he will urge to double time the fast tracking the test of these kits as per recommendation of FDA (Food and Drug Administration) wherein experts will test and screen it for 500 more times left and if approved they will immediately deploy it to public hospital in the country.

These testing kits are mainly produce in UP Diliman and hopefully it will be available for use soon.

As of now the confirmed COVID19 cases is 33 and many more person of interest in under observation and quarantined.

Survey states that this virus strain is fatal to those who are elderly with poor immune system, but good news it has a high chance of recovery with no need of special attention (WHO).

For now the health sectors urges to have a proper hand washing habit, avoid public places at all times, cover your nose and mouth when sneezing and coughing, wear a face mask if you are in the mass crowded area.
