Several Private Schools and Colleges in the country (Selected Areas) announced class suspension due to the Novel Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV. Here is a list of schools and areas where classes have been suspended for Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

Private Schools in Metro Manila:
- Chiang Kai Shek College – suspended until February 8
- Hope Christian High School – class resumption on February 10
- St. Jude Catholic School – class resumption on February 8
- St. Stephen’s High School – class resumption on February 10
- Uno High School – suspended until February 8
Philippine Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III confirmed Sunday the second Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV-ARD) case and the first death in the country. The second case was a 44-year-old Chinese male who happened to be the companion of the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in the country.
