Several Local Government Units announces suspension of classes in all public and private schools (Selected Areas Only) and also in work in all departments, offices, and bureaus under the Manila City government on Thursday, January 9, 2020, due to Black Nazarene Traslacion.
Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has ordered the suspension of classes in all levels in “all universities, colleges, and schools”. He also stated that “does not cover city government offices involved in maintaining peace and order, public services, traffic enforcement, disaster risk reduction, and management as well as sanitation.”
According to reports, at least 2.5 million devotees are expected to flock in this year’s Black Nazarene Traslacion.
Traslacion or also known as “Pista ng Itim na Nazareno” is one of the biggest religious activities in the Philippines.
