The history of eruption recorded started in 1754, 1911 and 1965. In 1974 shows the worst among all eruptions that lasted up to seven months and brought widespread damages in the area.
In 1911 eruption killed over 1,300 people. The volcano had not erupted for more than a half century until 1965 that Taal Volcano spew lava again. PHIVOLCS recorded ash fall of 20 kilometers high. The base surge crossed the lake that caused more than 360 people died.
When the volcano erupted, it spewed out big rocks. People trying to escape were hit by the rocks.
