The court orders Zaldy Ampatuan to return to jail 2 day before verdict.

After almost two months of confinement in a private hospital, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 221 issued an order against Ampatuan massacre principal accused Zaldy Ampatuan to bring him back to his detention cell in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig.

The court has its full power to bring the accused back to his detention cell knowing that Ampatuan’s health condition back to normal after the proper procedure during the rehabilitation session as an outpatient.

Ampatuan confined in the hospital at the Makati Medical Center since October 22, 2019 suffering stroke but now he already gained his full strength back to normal.

According to report, the DOJ doubt that Ampatuan’s confinement for a long period of time at the Makati Medical Center would give him a chance to escape as verdict on the ongoing hearing would taking place on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes said, “Unless his attending physicians will execute a certification under oath that his return to the detention facility will endanger his life, reason dictates that the relief being prayed for in the Motion filed by the prosecution must be granted.”

The court then ordered the Jail Warden of Quezon City Jail-Annex, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City, to transport immediately the accused-movant Zaldy Ampatuan back to his detention facility.

Reyes also said that the client is allowed to have their one lawyer to attend during the promulgation of judgement on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

Aside from the principal accused Zaldy Ampatuan, there are some other accused involved in massacre that include his brothers Andal Ampatuan Jr and Sajid Ampatuan. Andal Jr is in jail, while Sajid is out on bail.
