Sea Games 2019: Hero Surfer Roger Casogay Received Order of Lapu-Lapu Award

Hero surfer Roger Casogay received an order of Lapu –lapu award for saving his Indonesian co-surfer during the Sea Games 2019.

Senator Bong Go commended Rogers’s heroic act wherein he did not compromise his fellow athlete for the sake of winning a medal in the competition.

It is remembered that during the surfing contest Indonesian Arip Nurhidayat suffered a misfortune wherein his surfing safety rope was unleash and dangers him of being drowned. Then Roger rushed to him and drags him down to safety.

The hero surfer will expected to received a personal award and distinction in December 18 held at Malacañang palace.

“That moment is the epitome of the official slogan of the 30th Southeast Asian Games: We Win As One,” the senator said as he sponsored a resolution commending the La Union-born surfer.

“It exemplified the Filipino value of bayanihan,” he said.

The Order of Lapu-lapu is a distinctive award for that person who performs exemplary heroic act towards fellowmen and on one with the campaign added by the advocacy of the president.
