Manila archbishop, Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle is one of the most possible and ideal person to becoming the first Filipino Pope.

According to former Philippine ambassador to the Vatican Henrietta de Villa, she said that archbishop Tagle has already earned respect and popularity to the Vatican and because of that archbishop Tagle was appointed by the Pope Francis as prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.

The new designation of archbishop Tagle will give him the opportunity to oversees the work of the Catholic Church in most of the dioceses in Africa, Asia and Oceania, which is around one-third of the world’s 4,000 dioceses heading him to earn favor and the vote to becoming a first Filipino Pope.

“And with all the good things he will be able to do, I am sure his value to the universal Church will be seen,” she added.
