KathNiel love team is one of the famous celebrity couples in the industry. They have been on several TV dramas and movies, and they never failed to amaze the fans through their acting.
Recently, Kathryn Bernardo won the Best Actress, 35th Star Awards in the movie ‘The Hows of Us’ wherein Daniel Padilla was also nominated as the Best Actor. However, Ogie Alcasid won the Best Actor Award as ‘Kuya Wes’.
According to Daniel Padilla, Kathryn’s Best Actress Award was already long overdue, and that she deserves the Award.
In Kathryn’s emotional acceptance speech, she admitted that she had a hard time in her showbiz career even before accepting the movie ‘The Hows of Us’ being the reason for her to doubt her capacity as an actress.
She said, “I was at a certain point in my career wherein I started questioning my capacity as an actress. Alam ko most of you alam niyo ‘yung story na ‘yun. And then I questioned myself why things weren’t working out the way I wanted to. Bakit binigay mo lahat pero bakit ganyan, so andami kong whys last year before we shot ‘The Hows of Us’. And then, I learned, pinakabaon na natutunan ko siguro while making this film at ‘yung pinatuto sakin ng universe, that life is not perfect. It doesn’t always go the way you wanted it to be. And itong award na to, this is a validation that true dedication really does pay off.”
Kathryn added, “It’s okay, not to be okay sometimes. It’s okay to get tired in the process. It’s okay to fail, even. Kasi lahat ‘yan parte’ yan ng journey natin, because what’s important is that you stand up and retry again until you’re able to make that dreams a reality”
“It’s okay to dream big, walang problema. Ang importante is that you try and try again, kahit na ma fail ka, just try again. Always remember, that you’ll always have a shot at making that dream come true. So, para sa lahat ng nangangarap, para sa inyo din tong award na ‘to.” She said as she ended her acceptance speech.
After the awards night on Sunday, June 2, at an interview with Pep.ph, Daniel said that he was very proud of Kathryn’s achievement.
Daniel said, “Sabi ko nga sa inyo, matagal na ito dapat nakuha, pero ito siyempre nakamit na niya. I’m very, very proud, she deserves it.”
“Talagang mapupunta ka sa punto na ‘yun.” He added when asked about the time Kathryn doubted her capacity.
“Ako naman, lagi kong sinasabi sa kanya, ‘Para sa iyo talaga ‘yan. ‘Yung ‘The Hows Of Us’, dinala niya ang pelikula na yun. Kung bakit ganun kaganda yung pelikula na yun, kung bakit ganun kaganda yung istorya, talagang nagampanan ng characters, lalo na si Kathryn. She deserves this and she deserves more.” Daniel continues.
His message for Kathryn was “Bal, I’m very, very proud of you. You deserve this and you deserve more.”
About Kathryn’s confession about her hardships, Daniel said that he is always there for her.
“Kinukuwestiyon niya kasi, alam ninyo ‘yun, napakatagal na sa industriya ni Kathryn. Mas mahaba na siyang panahon kaysa sa akin. Mas marami na rin siyang nagawang mas mahihirap. At ngayong gabi, nakamit na niya ang umpisa na marami pang makakamit.”
