President Rodrigo Duterte visits Benguet after receiving reports of at least 40 people died. The President assured P45, 000 cash assistance for those bereaved families of the landslide victims in Baguio City, Ucab, and Itogon.

According to President Rodrigo Duterte, “We believed in God, because there is God. kailan tayo mamamatay, hanggang kelan tayo mabuhay. Saan at papano. It is complicated to understand it here in the planet. Ang Dios lang talaga ang maka sagot sa lahat ng tanung na ito. Even if I make a vain, attempt to blame somebody, to blame the weather or even to blame the negligence of others? It could be no helps…just cry..go on because that is the part of emotion.”
