The 43rd edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) revealed the Top 4 highest-grossing films, number 1 is “The Revenger Squad,” (2) “Ang Panday,” (3) Siargao, and (4) Haunted Forest. During thanksgiving party of MMFF Executive Committee (ExeCom) announced that they had passed the P1 Billion mark (highest gross on the first and second day of the festival.)
“Normally, may nagsi-single digit [na box-office performance] yung lowest. Yung lowest na ito, matter of millions lang ang difference. More than P30 million ang nakuha nung nasa bottom four,” said by MMFF spokesperson Noel Ferrer.
The eight MMFF 2017 entries earned a total of P1.5 Billion in gross sales and still counting because some of the entries are still showing in cinemas nationwide.
“Sixty percent of the total box-office gross came from The Revenger Squad and Ang Panday,” said by Bing Advincula, Vice-chairman of the MMFF selection committee.
The Revenger Squad topped one (1) with a total earnings of P540 million as of January 9, 2018.
