Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Moves Barangay, SK Elections on May 2018. The President Duterte has already signed the law mandating that the following elections for the Barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan will be held on the second (2) week of May 2018.

In the report of “The Philippine Star,” President Duterte has signed the Republic Act 10952 on October 2 yet the signed copy was submitted on Malacañang Palace on October 4. Here is the statement of Comelec Chairperson Andres Bautista;

“The Commission en Banc will be issuing the necessary Resolutions to effectuate this new law. In the meantime, we advise all deputized agencies and election partners to immediately begin ramping down their election related activities and await more detailed instructions and guidelines from the Commission on how to move forward.”

President Duterte cancelled this year’s election of Barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan because over 40 percent of Barangay officials have allegedly involve on illegal drugs operations.
