#WalangPasok: Classes & Work Suspension on Thursday, September 21, 2017 for a “Day of Protest.” Only public schools and work in government offices will be suspended on September 21, 2017, stated by Malacañang Palace.
It is also marks the 45th anniversary of the declaration of martial law by the late President Marcos. On Monday, President Duterte announces on public that September 21 is not a holiday but a “day of protest.”

President Duterte stated, “I have declared it as a day of protest. Lahat ng gustong mag-protesta laban sa gobyerno, pulis o military, magbabaan kayo dyan.”

According to Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella, “The Office of the Executive Secretary will issue a memorandum circular suspending work in government offices both national and local as well as classes in all public schools, state colleges and universities.”
He also added that it will be up to private schools and companies whether to suspend classes and work on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
