Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) stated a magnitude 5.1 Earthquake hits Albuera (Leyte) at around 6:26 AM on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. The location was made in 10.97°N, 124.70°E – 005 km N 03° E of Albuera (Leyte).

Intensity V – Ormoc City

Intensity IV- Pastrana, Leyte

Intensity III – Tacloban City and Palo, Leyte

Instrumental Intensities:

Intensity VI -Ormoc City

Intensity I – Cebu City
