The Malacañang Palace has declared June 26, 2017 (Monday) as the regular holiday nationwide in observance of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan). President Rodrigo Duterte Duterte signed the Proclamation No. 235 on Friday, June 16, 2017. The Philippine President has not seen in public eye since June 12, 2017.
Proclamation No. 235 stated as “Declaring Monday, 26 June 2017, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan).”
National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, “In order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness.”
Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) is celebrated by the Muslim world for three (3) days after the end of the month of fasting.
