The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) announces on Thursday, May 25, 2017 that a magnitude of 5.4 earthquake hits San Marcelino (Zambales). The location is “15.10°N, 120.04°E – 019 km N 41° W”. Origin is TECTONIC and 088 Depth of Focus (Km).

Intensity III – Tagaytay City; Talisay Batangas; San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan; Pasay City; Makati
City; Mandaluyong; Manila City; Paranaque City; Taguig City; San Miguel, Tarlac; Marilao,
Bulacan
Intensity II – Palayan City; Bacoor, Cavite; San Jacinto, Pangasinan
Instrumental Intensities:
Intensity IV – Quezon City; Marikina City
Intensity III – Talisay, Batangas; Palayan City; Batangas City
Intensity II – Magalang, Pampanga
Intensity I – Sinait, Ilocos Sur
According to Phivolcs, No damages and aftershocks will happen after the earthquakes.
Phivolcs added, “There is no reliable technology in the world that can confidently predict the date, time and location of large earthquakes.”
