The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) announce a magnitude 5.4 earthquake around 8:58 p.m. that hit parts of Metro Manila and Luzon last Tuesday night, April 4, 2017. According to PHIVOLCS, the exact time of occurrence was recorded at 08:58.00 p.m. with epicenter at 13.71°N, 120.83°E – 007 km N 37° W of Tingloy, Batangas.
PHIVOLCS added a tectonic origin with 3 km depth of focus.
Intensity IV – Makati City, Obando, Bulacan
Intensity III – Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, Gen. trias & Dasmarinas, Cavite, Santa Ana, Manila,
Lucena City, Quezon
Intensity II – Talisay, Batangas; Pasig City
As of 11:54 p.m., 13 aftershocks had been recorded.
