CONFIRMED! Miss Universe 2017 Beauty Pageant will be held in the Philippines on January 30, 2017 at 5 a.m. The good news was confirmed by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo during a press conference on Thursday. Miss Universe 2017 coronation will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

According to Department of Tourism, Steve Harvey is still to host the Miss Universe 2017 because he has a five-year contract with organizers of the Miss Universe pageant. In recall, host Steve Harvey drew flak after announcing Miss Columbia as winner but Pia Wurtzback from the Philippines is the official winner and took home the crown.

Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is happy when receiving a message that the Miss Universe 2017 pageant will be held in Philippines. Teo stated, ““He (Duterte) is happy. Sabi niya sa akin, o ‘yung Miss Universe ha tuloy na tuloy na… everbody is happy.”

The country will not spend anything for the pageant citing it was her promise to the president, Teo said. Miss Universe contestants will be able to see the beautiful places in the Philippines.
