Joy Viado, a comedienne passed away at the age of 57 on Saturday evening of September 10. Her bestfriend Annette Lucido confirmed this to ABS-CBN News in a text message.
ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe said that Joy Viado joined her creator at 8:55 pm. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Quezon City General Hospital because of a heart attack.
Lucido said in an interview that they are still making arrangements and will give updates once everything is final.
The comedienne was diagnosed with diabetes in 2000, and she underwent four debridement surgeries to remove the wounds that she is suffering on her legs because of diabetes complications and also to save Viado from eventual amputation.

Joy Viado appears in many comedy films such as “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” and also plays a leading role in an indie film “MNL 143”. She was also seen in TV shows like “Kokey At Ako,” “Pidol’s Wonderland,” “Bagets: Just Got Lucky,” “Wako Wako,” “Got To Believe,” and “LUV U.”
A wake for Viado will be held at the Arlington Memorial Chapels Sunday afternoon.
