Over the weekend, three persons were dead when twin typhoons – Kompasu and Mindulle hit Japan. Typhoon Kompasu made the first landfall at Hokkaido island killing 2 persons, including a Japanese Coast Guard member. The typhoon remained in Japan but has weakened into a tropical depression.
Long before when Typhoon Kompasu is done destroying the country, another typhoon Mindulle make a landfall in the city capital of Tokyo.
As Mindulle was heading to the north- east and island of Hokkaido, the people of Japan were given a warning on possible landslides and mudslides. According to NHK reporter, many people were injured caused by the strong wind and were urged to leave their homes in the Greater Tokyo and north-east area.
Mindulle typhoon caused 26, 910 Japan Airline passengers stranded in the airport. All stranded passengers were scheduled to fly with 500 canceled flights but leave them no choice but to suspend their trips because the super- fast- bullet train also suffered because of the typhoon. All Nippon Airways accounted the 21,300 passengers waiting for their canceled flights to resume.
A third tropical storm named Lionrock was in the south of the island of Shikoku, but it’s not to be expected to hit Japan.
